007 – 2024 Editorial

The project began with a simple observation: certain handbags and chairs share remarkably similar design characteristics despite belonging to entirely different categories. I developed these parallels into a series of pairings based on form, material, color and cultural references.

From there, the idea expanded beyond individual images. I conceived each sculpture and installation as a different way of interpreting or presenting the relationship between the two objects — sometimes treating them as art objects, sometimes using the installations to frame and display the photography itself.

I also developed the exhibition space as an extension of this narrative, bringing the individual works together within an environment positioned between gallery and retail. The accompanying film moves through this world and connects the installations into a continuous experience, incorporating references to 1990s visual culture and consumer objects.

Across photography, spatial design, sculpture and motion, PARITY became an exploration of how a single visual idea can develop into a larger interconnected world.
